When we met her first time, we didn't know what to expect..
We were somewhat sure but not clear and we were there to check.
She was the one who confirmed the 'good news' to us.
Since then we had been to her every month. Earlier months it was once, then later twice and in end months, every week. Through out the period of 9 months, she was advising and guiding through the period when life was taking shape.
We were naturally worried about every small & big things during this time. She handled it sometimes through her expertise and most of the times by talking..
She was gracious, comforting & meticulous.
And when it was time for the moment, She delivered our Saanvi.
Her name - Dr. Lani Warren.
After Saanvi was born, we did not get chance to meet the doctor.
Today we visited her just to convey our gratitude for all the wonderful things she did for us. It was time to thank the supporting staff from doctors' office as well.
It was a heartfelt moment to say thanks to Dr.Lani. We presented her the 'thank you' card specially made for her. There was also the photo of her with Saanvi from the day of delivery.
Saanvi's photo made her way to the wall of doctor's office ..
Indeed how can we let the doctor go without she tasting some Indian sweets. We gave her a box of Soan Papdi. But definitely we didn't expect her to ask us what the sweet is made up of !
Is it like doctors always put calories in front of taste !
Doctors do such a noble work..
They help bring new life to existence, save life that is in danger & nurture a sick life.
A Sanskrit verse goes like this
शरीरे जर्जिर्बूते व्याधिग्र्सते कलेवर ।
अशुद्धम झान्वीतॊय्म वैद्यॊ नारायणम हरिः
This translates to
"When the body is suffering and when the disease is occuping the body, (bitter) medicine is like the (holy)water of Ganga and doctor is God (Narayana) Himself "
No other term as 'Vaidyo Narayana Hari' explains it better..
Thanks to all the doctors in the world..
Ofcourse, special thanks from Saanvi to Dr. Lani !
