It was then few hours since Saanvi was born.
After the initial feeding she was taken to the baby nursery. After some time, nurse called our ward room and told that baby is ready for feed and that she is bringing the baby back.
We both were excited to hear that our baby is coming back.
As nurse brought the trolley with baby, something didn't seemed right. I had remembered our Saanvi had yellow cap. This baby had a purple cap. Also it didn't look like Saanvi we had seen earlier !
Thanks to tagging system !
The number on baby's tag was different from what was on my tag & Saanvi's mother's tag.
It was not our Saanvi !!
Apparently there was some confusion from nurse's side. Earlier there was a family in our ward room and they had moved to a different room. Nurse had brought their baby to our room !!
After this little drama, our Saanvi came. We confirmed by matching the tagging numbers. As well, the baby was the Saanvi we had seen few hours before !
With tagging system in place, though its not so easy for babies to get swapped, things like these are always uncomforting ones.
PS: After the child is born, the babies are taken to baby nursery so that they monitor baby overnight and also that mom can take some rest. Moms definitely need rest after the delivery! The nurse brings the baby back to mom when it is hungry.
