Autumnal Feelings
"The seasons will change," I explain
As the leaf drifts away from its summer home
It shan't feel pain
It lays on the ground waiting for...
Someone
Anyone
Someone
Or it waits for the wind to carry it
As we exclaim, "there she blows!"
But wait, who goes?
A child- a baby- with the cheerful smiles
And the active, wiggling toes
He picks up the leaf and runs steadfast
To place his special leaf for everyone to glance
The leaf feels nothing but important joy
For it was deemed important by an autumn boy
Happy First Day of Autumn!
Dedicated to little brother!
Most beautiful poem (dedicated to her little brother)!
